Description
This solution is part of the Beyond INERTia Strategy: circular supply chain for CDW. Inertia lab is a solution that was proposed by citizens during a PULL in Afragola. It is a free collection Eco-Points for CDW from Municipal Solid Waste, a place where little producers can deliver their inert waste for free. Small construction and refurbishment constitute a big part building sector. Small inert waste streams can get out of control, but they make up a large percentage of the total. In Campania they are often disposed of illegally because of the costs. The Laboratory will provide to: separate inert waste from CDW, sort and sell them to sector companies.
Objective
The aggregates make up almost 50% of the CDW produced in Italy, due to the most common construction systems, in cement and bricks. Since small producers of CDW are not obliged to submit the single environmental declaration, these wastes are not fully traceable. Much inert waste much is produced in small home renovations. Furthermore, disposal costs lead individuals and small businesses, which are already suffering from economic crisis conditions, to avoid disposal costs. The aim of the solution is to avoid abandonment or improper disposal of inert waste by offering a free service.
